What is a capital credit retirement?Capital credits are the margins that Sussex Rural Electric Cooperative, as a member-owned, at-cost organization, allocates to our members as a return on their equitable investment into the Co-op. When finances permit, capital credits are retired to members based on how much electricity each member used in a given calendar year.
This video, "Power and the Land," is a part of a documentary commissioned by the Rural Electrification Administration in 1940. It focuses on the lives of a farming family in rural Ohio. It displays the struggles and toil of everyday farm life pre-electrification and how this was all changed by the REA.
Sussex Rural Electric Cooperative offers an opportunity to work for a small member-owned electric utility whose priorities are safety, quality of service, and affordable prices. The Cooperative blends high technology with proven techniques to deliver power to approximately 12,000 members.
Co-ops Vote is a national, nonpartisan initiative organized by America's Electric Cooperatives to inform our members on key issues in our national, state, and local elections that would affect cooperatives and their ability to provide electric service.
