As an electric cooperative, we value the opinions of our members. Through our Member Advisory Committee (MAC), Sussex Rural Electric Cooperative is able to get the direct feedback from our membership that can help us continue to provide the excellent service our members deserve.
MAC members act as sounding boards for changes in service processes and development of new programs at the Cooperative. In addition, they learn more about the activities of Sussex Rural Electric Cooperative and may serve as a source of knowledge about the Cooperative to other members in the community. Meetings take place in the Fall and Spring. Members of the Sussex Rural Electric Cooperative Board of Directors and its management team attend and participate in each meeting.
All this allows MAC members to provide feedback to SREC about the needs and concerns of the Co-op's membership. This ongoing interaction helps to serve as a communication link between the members and the leadership of Sussex Rural Electric.
The MAC is made up of volunteer-members who represent the membership of the Cooperative. Each of our three districts are represented by three members. If you'd like to know which district your address falls into, you can consult our interactive District Map.
To encourage member participation and ensure that a true cross-section of the membership is represented, members will sometimes rotate off the committee before being considered for another seat.
To ensure we obtain feedback from a diverse group of our membership, we ask that members interested in serving on the MAC complete a simple application, found below. The Sussex Rural Electric Cooperative Board of Directors will evaluate and approve the applications in order to obtain the best overall representation of our membership. New members will be announced and notified of their selection prior to the next meeting of the committee which will be held in November of 2019.
