Please be aware: We've received a report from a member that was contacted over the phone by a caller claiming to be calling from the State of New Jersey to collect on overdue bills on behalf of Sussex Rural Electric Cooperative. The caller demanded that payment information be provided over the phone to avoid immediate service shutoff. If you receive a call similar to this, it is a scam. Sussex Rural Electric Cooperative does not contract outside representatives, including from the State of New Jersey, to call its members regarding overdue bills. We do not threaten immediate shutoff if payment isn't provided over the phone.
