Notice of Upcoming Road Closure for Utility Work: 

Please note that the entrance to Wawayanda Road in Highland Lakes, by Lake Wanda where Breakneck Road and Canister Road meet Wawayanda Road, will be closed on Tuesday, September 29th at approximately 9 pm for scheduled utility work. All work will take place overnight. This section of Wawayanda Road will reopen at approximately 3 am on Wednesday, September 30th.

We will be conducting a wire transfer to a new transmission pole, necessary due to the age and condition of the existing pole. This section of Wawayanda Road, heading northeast into Barry Lakes, will be inaccessible to motorists during this time. This will also affect access to nearby Forest Street, High Street, and Ridge Road while work is being conducted.

We are working closely with the Vernon Police Department to ensure that this work can be conducted safely with minimal impact on residents of the Lake Wanda, Highland Lakes, and Barry Lakes communities. We will be sure to announce any changes to this scheduled work, such as delays due to inclement weather.
