Our November issue of Currents, our monthly member newsletter, has been sent out by mail and is now available online!
This month, CEO Chris Reese reflects on what we at the Cooperative our most thankful for: you, our members! The relationship between our membership and the Cooperative is truly special in the mutual support we provide one another, so this Thanksgiving season all of Sussex Rural Electric Cooperative's employees want to express our gratitude for this relationship. One of the most unique aspects of our cooperative business model is also a special way we can express this gratitude: capital credits! Detailed in this issue's main article, capital credit checks will soon be making their way to the homes of our members, past and present. We'll be retiring over $800,000 from the years of 1999-2002 and a part of 2003, as well as 2018. If you lived in an SREC-powered home during any of these years, you can expect a check coming your way soon. Read inside for details!
This month we're also beginning an initiative related to electric vehicles. At www.sussexrec.com/electric-vehicles, interested members can find more information on EVs and learn how much of an impact driving electric can impact them! Also on this page, we invite members who currently drive an EV to share some basic information on their EV experience with us. This information will be incredibly helpful to us at the Cooperative in establishing an specialized EV rate as electric vehicles become more prominent.
Also in this packed issue, we announce this year's holiday toy drive, share some of our recent work within the community, and call for applications for 2020's Youth Tour, due January 15th!
