2024 Coat Drive

Sussex REC is once again calling on the community to come together to donate new or gently used coats for a community-wide coat drive! Winter is just around the corner, and soon the most vulnerable members of their community will be in need of coats that can reliably keep them warm.
Take this opportunity to clean out your closet or upgrade your current winter coat to a new one! There are people in our own community that rely on the kindness of others to keep them warm through the winter. For this drive, we'll have donation sites across the community, which you can find below. We are accepting donations at these sites through Friday, November 1st. Following this, all collected coats will be contributed to the Jersey Cares Coat Drive.
This collection drive, organized in partnership with local high school student Fred Ogrinz, aims to collect coats from across the community. All collected coats will be donated to the larger effort of the Jersey Cares Coat Drive Initiative, which has provided thousands of coats to people in need across New Jersey for nearly 30 years.
We will accept donations of new or gently used coats only. Coats in all sizes, styles, and for all age groups and genders are needed.
Gloves, hats, socks, scarves, sweatshirts, windbreakers, and other items are not accepted by the Jersey Cares Coat Drive Initiative, so please do not donate these items.
