Frequently Asked Questions
Sussex REC’s Annual Meeting will once again be split into two separate events: an Online Meeting that covers the business portion of the event, and an in-person Member Appreciation Event. Our Online Meeting will be available on this webpage starting on Monday, July 1st, 2024 and our Member Appreciation Event will take place at the NJ State Fair’s BBQ Pavilion on Monday, August 5th between 12 pm and 7:30 pm.
You can reserve free tickets to the Fair by pre-registering for our Member Appreciation Event. Registration will be available on this webpage on Monday, July 1st. You are able to reserve up to two free tickets per membership in the Cooperative. Members have until Thursday, July 25th at 11:59 pm to reserve their tickets. The following workday at 4:30 pm, all tickets at our office that have not yet been picked up will be mailed out to the members who reserved them at their account's assigned mailing address.
We provide tickets to registered members as a means for them to attend our Member Appreciation Event with the added benefit of enjoying the Fair on the same day. As such, free tickets that members receive from Sussex Rural Electric Cooperative will only be valid for a free entry into the Fair on Monday, August 5th.
For visiting us at the Fairgrounds' BBQ Pavilion for our Member Appreciation Event, our members will receive a $10 bill credit on their September 2024 electric bill. You may also spin our prize wheel to receive one of several free giveaway items. To support some of our community's organizations, members will also receive vouchers that offer discounts for local vendors at the Fair.
Members who attend the event will also be entered into our prize drawing for a chance to win one of several prizes. Prizes include bill credits, gift cards, and model Sussex REC bucket trucks. More details on what prizes will be available will be coming soon. The winners of each prize will be picked at random from the names of all members who attended the event and will be announced the day following the event (Tuesday, August 6th). Winners will be contacted directly to let them know they've won and how they can claim their prize.
Please note that each of these offers are limited to one per cooperative membership. Non-members are not eligible to receive any of these offers.
No. You do not need to pre-register to attend the Member Appreciation Event that we are holding at the NJ State Fair. Pre-registering will earn you up to two free tickets to the Fair so you may attend our event, but members who did not pre-register and did not receive tickets from Sussex REC are still welcome to attend and will receive all the benefits of attending our event.
Members who did not pre-register or who missed the deadline to register for free tickets will not be reimbursed for the cost of their tickets to attend our event at the Fair. The offer of free tickets to the Fair is a limited time offer.
Sussex REC’s team will be at the Sussex County Fairgrounds’ BBQ Pavilion on Monday, August 5th in between the hours of 12 pm and 7:30 pm. The BBQ Pavilion is located in the Agriculture area (shown in green on this map of the Fairgrounds). Close landmarks include the Walter Richards Exhibit Building, the Livestock Pavilion, and the Shotwell 4-H Building.
Our Member Appreciation Event will take place on Monday, August 5th, rain or shine. The BBQ Pavilion has a roof which will help protect those attending from any potential rain.
Details on the prizes we will be giving away as part of our Member Appreciation Event are coming soon. Prizes will include bill credits, gift cards, and Sussex REC model bucket trucks. This year, our prize drawing will be conducted the day after the Member Appreciation Event. All members who checked in at our event will be entered into the prize drawing, and their names will be drawn randomly to select winners for each of our prizes. Members will be contacted individually using their preferred contact methods to notify them of what they’ve won.
