Coffee with Chris
Registered attendees will be welcomed into our building and treated to complimentary coffee and snacks. Part of our "Coffee with Chris" series of events, our President & CEO Chris Reese and other co-op staff will be available to answer questions from the group about Sussex Rural Electric Cooperative and how the Co-op operates. We'll be taking a look at programs that seniors can take advantage of to make the most of their co-op membership.
Programs Available to Seniors
Some of the programs available to senior members that we will be discussing at this event include:
- Holiday Card Art Contest - We are currently accepting holiday-themed artwork from children and grandchildren of our members (grades K-5th) for a chance to be featured on our 2024 holiday card! Artwork will be accepted until October 25th, and the top three artists selected by our judging committee will receive prizes, with #1's art being used on our holiday card which is sent to friends and associates of the Co-op.
- Medical Alert Program - If you use electric-powered medical equipment in your home, enrolling in Medical Alerts will make sure you are always notified of planned outages in your area.
- Cummins Whole House Generators - Available through our subsidiary SREC Resources, Cummins whole house generators offer peace of mind by automatically providing power to your home during an outage.
- GenerLink - The GenerLink transfer switch makes it easier than ever to hook up your mobile generator to you home when you're experiencing an outage.
- Electric Thermal Storage and ETS Refer a Friend - Electric Thermal Storage offers freedom from fossil fuels by letting you heat your home with reliable and affordable, off-peak electricity. To make things even better, through our Refer a Friend program current ETS members can earn a $100 bill credit for themselves and their friend when a friend installs their new ETS system!
Project Self Sufficiency's Earth Angels
We encourage attendees of this event to bring with them donations to support Project Self-Sufficiency's Earth Angels program. Through this program, Project Self-Sufficiency's volunteers distribute holiday gifts to local senior citizens who are homebound and unable to celebrate the holidays with family and friends. This community program has been running since 1999 and has helped spread holiday cheer to hundreds of seniors in our area.
We'll be accepting donations at this event to provide to Project Self-Sufficiency ahead of the holidays. Monetary donations, gift cards, and household items will all be accepted and will be provided to Project Self-Sufficiency following our event. Suggestions for donations can be found in the image below!
